The girl who can never have too many friends Hello Kitty invited all of her friends to celebrate her 40th Anniversary at the first-ever Hello Kitty Convention in Los Angeles. What better way to celebrate than with Hello Kitty food, art, fashion, entertainment, shopping and so much more! It was definitely a sight to see and a magical place for all things Hello Kitty!
Sanrio Inc., in conjunction with Target, kicked off the festivities over the Halloween weekend with special goodies, giveaways, exclusive merchandise, panels, lectures and even a preview of the mobile Hello Kitty Café truck, which is set to open in Southern California in 2015!
The Geffen Contemporary museum at MOCA transformed the enormous venue to host one-of-kind workshops and meet and greet fun from various artists around the world including Hello Kitty head designer Yuko Yagamuchi from Tokyo, Japan.
MakerBot was also part of the fun, by showing off its 3D printer and giving fans a mini souvenir of Hello Kitty to take home. Exclusive Hello Kitty Beats by Dr. Dre. provided guests with a music break. Colorful merchandise from Tokidoki highlighted the theme of the night when it comes to fashion – be you. Bold fashion dominated the night thanks to Lovely Kitty Wonder curated by Stephiee Nguyen of JapanLA Clothing who wowed the audience as runway models showed off their one-of-a-kind Hello Kitty-inspired couture pieces.
The event sold out and was only in Los Angeles for the weekend but you can still celebrate with Hello Kitty.
